Infection Control Guidance is continually updated to reflect the infection and control for seasonal respiratory infections in health and care settings (including SARS-CoV-2) for winter 2021 to 2022 issued by the UK Health Security Agency.

Osteopaths may therefore continue to practice, subject to complying with relevant guidance and the restrictions currently in place in England, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales.

Vale Osteopathy uses the infection control guidance issued by the General Osteopathic Council (GOsC) to minimise risk to patients, osteopaths and others in the clinical environment.
In Vale Osteopathy, these measures are;

Ventilation in treatment room

Hand washing up to the elbow before and after treating each individual.

Sanitising all surfaces before and after each individual enters the treatment room.

Face coverings to be worn by osteopath and client, unless medically exempt.

Hand sanitiser on entry to the clinic and in the treatment room.

Osteopath is up to date with all vaccinations.

Lateral flow tests taken regularly by the osteopath.

Triaging clients before entry to the clinic to ensure they and members of their household do not have relevant symptoms..

Video or phone consultations available.

Vale Osteopathy ensures that all possible measures are taken to limit the spread of SARS-CoV-19. If you, or any close contact develops symptoms relating to SARS-CoV-19, please contact the clinic immediately. These symptoms may include; a new, continuous cough, fever, loss of smell and taste.
