Why can't I do my bra-strap up? Reaching behind your back to do up your bra-strap require a lot of rotation in your shoulder. You may not notice the amount of movement your shoulder needs to do this move until you have an injury or restriction that prevents this movement from happening and causes pain. Osteopathic treatment can help to identify the cause of the restriction and help improve the mobility. I will also give you alternative ways to get yourself fastened whilst the movement is improving!
Why can't I lift my arm above my head? There are many causes of reduced range of motion in the shoulder. Certain injuries to the supportive muscles of the shoulder, namely the rotator cuff, can cause stiffness and pain in the shoulder and prevent the full range of motion. There are also other causes of reduced movement such as 'frozen shoulder', or a fracture.
